Welcome to MJ Photography! Mike, the owner and photographer, is excited to share his passion for capturing meaningful moments. Raised in the small seaside resort town of Cape May, NJ, Mike's love for photography began in high school, where he took an elective photography class for two years and quickly developed a deep passion for the craft. After graduating, he enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard and later used his G.I. Bill to earn a Bachelor of Science in Digital Cinematography. In the summer of 2023, Mike officially launched MJ Photography.

Lately, Mike has taken on a new interest in shooting with 35mm film, reconnecting with the timeless beauty of analogue photography. While digital photography remains his primary medium, Mike enjoys the slower, more intentional process that comes with shooting on film. The unique grain, color tones, and unpredictability of film allow him to create images with a nostalgic, artistic feel. This passion for analogue photography has enriched his digital work, bringing a blend of modern techniques and vintage charm to his sessions.
